Event for innovations in bioprocess engineering
- Where research meets industry -
The BioProcessingDays Innovation Hub 2026 brings together experts, innovators, and decision-makers from the biotech industry to shape the future of bioprocess engineering.
In the modern fermentation environment of the FERM-FACTORY at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Recklinghausen, we create a unique platform for exchange between companies and academic research.
In this workshop, you will not only experience state-of-the-art technologies and innovative analytical methods but also discover in the laboratory how a holistic concept for the process industry works in practice. Take the opportunity to try out the various tools of our application center yourself and follow an exemplary workflow!
Learn how to make your fermentation processes more efficient, transparent, and sustainable through intelligently linked data. You will acquire practical methods to increase your production efficiency while gaining well-founded insights into the strategic organization and evaluation of your data. This way, you can identify potential risks in advance and take targeted preventive measures.
Through the step-by-step networking of plants and data streams, not only accelerated and more robust processes are created but also improved compatibility – ultimately resulting in an optimized overall workflow.
In the unique setting of the BioProcessingDays, the Innovation Hub provides space for groundbreaking exchange: Together with partners from industry and research, we analyze the central challenges of the future laboratory in the process industry from multiple perspectives and develop practical solution approaches.
View Program
Modern laboratory and production technologies
Addressed are all engineers, technicians, and natural scientists who are active in bioprocess development or want to familiarize themselves with this topic. Through practical relevance (working in a fermentation environment with state-of-the-art technical infrastructure), a comprehensive bridge between theory and industry-oriented application is created.
Basic knowledge of bioprocess engineering, chemistry, and microbiology would be desirable but not necessary. Basic scientific-technical knowledge is sufficient for successful participation.
Modern data-based approaches
Efficient multi-parallelization
Innovative exhaust gas analytics
Medium-based analytics
Gas analytical methods
Assay-based control systems
Precise analytics of bioprocesses
Precise gas flow measurements
Innovative sensor technologies
Comparative system analysis
